Spring Break 2009

Spring break came and went and during those long days stuck inside due to the ridiculously cold and wet weather, the girls decided to hone their culinary skills. They chose to make the delicious Passion Cake (carrot cake), and french bread. They did this all on their own with just a half dozen cell phone calls to me for guidance (the two little girls and I were at the gym for our weekly three hour child care shift which I do to get the childcare free at the gym while I work out).

By the end of the week we needed some serious fun so we started in with the relays (there is nothing quite a relay session to get the heart pounding and the blood pumping).

Don't be jealous of us over this AWESOME Spring weather...we will gladly trade it with anyone.

Monster Trucks and Motorcross

As Stevey and the older four kids where walking out the door to carpool with three other dads and their kids to go this Monster Truck event, my beloved husband slowly backed up out of the doorway and shut the front door. I asked him what was going on and he humbly tells me that he was waiting for the bishop to drive by on his way to the Priesthood Session of Conference at the Stake Center. I guess Stevey didn't want to concern the bishop with his lack of attendance...that or just hiding from his own guilt.

Regardless, they had a great time and I am happy that they FINALLY went to one....they have been trying to go for years.

This was the kids favorite monster truck.

Good Samaritan Reward

"Falls Brand" meat company showed their gratitude for bringing the nut in the wieners mishap to their attention by overnighting us a nice selection of their other meat products available for sale....the sausage and old fashioned hot dogs were good (if you like that kind of thing).

So if the hotdog thing wasn't weird enough I was at Toys R Us the other day and decided to buy Sunny the toy pictured on the box below. What I got the was the toy displayed on the right....do you see a problem here? I called Fisher Price about it because on the box there is a disclaimer stating that there may be slight differences on the toys verse what is pictured on the box....and THIS difference is anything but slight. After some discussion we discovered that the toy was packaged in the wrong box and they are now sending me correct toy for FREE...I returned the one I purchased and discovered that mine was the only one packaged wrong. Another win-win situation.

This is a photograph of the newest piece of art or home decor to grace the walls of our home. We found this at DownEast and both Stevey and I fell in love with it the moment we way it. It fits perfectly with the other decor and we especially love it because we haven't seen anything like it anywhere.
