Dental Work Anyone?!

Funny story....

From the first day that Shaylee arrived back in July she has somehow become the designated tooth puller for our family.

Dalton has lost three teeth since July and Shaylee has pull all three. This one shown here was funny because Dalton's top tooth was sort of loose so Shaylee cries out, "Let's play dentist!" and runs into the back bedroom, her assistant Zoie was right on her heels. Dalton reluctantly follows and then one minute later came back to me with his tooth gone....alrighty then! It certainly saved me a lot of drama.

Catching Up

I have hated blogging lately, but now that we have the whole template thing worked out (don't ask) things could start picking up.

First: Christmas

First 1/2: Zoie's ballet showcase

Second: 12 Year anniversary in Jackson Hole...our honeymoon destination...it was much easier and funner when it was just the two of us.

Third: Sunny's major cuteness

Fourth: Clovers major croup. It lasted three days with out easing up...loved it.

Fifth: Kim's major birthday...39!!!! I got breakfast in bed, the whole house cleaned in the middle of the night (1am to 4am) courtesy of Zoie, Shaylee, and Braden....they couldn't wake Dalton up for the event. Later that night I was surprised with a delicious Strawberry shortcake birthday cake, a gift card to TJ Maxx (they DO know what I like!) and some jellybeans. It was a very nice birthday despite the age thingy.

Feed The Hungry Marathon

Forever ago I signed our family up for the Thanksgiving Day Marathon...feed the hungry. There was over 500 people who signed up for the run so needless to say there was a lot of people there and it was a VERY cold morning.

Just before the marathon started Stevey had to leave due to Elders Quorum duties and didn't get to run. YES, I was VERY annoyed I mean I signed up months and months ago for this FAMILY activity. When Stevey left he took Dalton with him because Dalton was freezing to death and I was in no mood to plan his funeral and he was no longer in any mood to run so THAT part worked out.

The race was ready to begin. I had the two little ones in the jogger and the big three were ready to go. We were planning on doing the one mile walk even though a 5k and a 10k were offered, just to keep it short and managible for me. The gun goes off and I tell the big three to run and win the race so they take off. I am one of the last of the 500 to get started due to my huge stroller and runner congestion, but probably just 30 seconds behind my older three. I make a quick left turn onto the one mile trail and immediately realize that the bigger three missed this crucial turn off.

I am now totally stressed because I have lost the bigger three kids ages 9, 10, and 12 amoung 500 strangers and I have no way of catching up to them. I RAN the one mile walking course in 12 minutes pushing my one hundredish pound stroller (forty pound stroller, thirty-five pound toddler, and twenty-five pound baby).

Now the reason I was stressing so much was because I knew that the bigger kids were planning on a short race and I knew that if it were me in their situation I would probably be crying and stop to wait for my mom/aunt to come and get me. I finally resolved that they were just going to have to keep running and follow the flow of people. Forty-five minutes later I FINALLY see Braden (10yr old) running. He stopped and turned around and I knew he was passing the word that I was found. They were pooped! I was cheering/screaming for them to keep running because they were almost done. Braden ran by, then Shaylee, and then Zoie they were about twenty seconds apart. I tucked Sunny under my arm and started running to be there for them at the finish line.....I did it!

Braden was coming through first and just started to sprint and finished in 48:34, Shaylee came around the bend and started her sprint and finished in 48:43, then Zoie came and sprinted and finished in 49:00! It was SO AWESOME!!! They were so excited! When all was said and done they had actually ran 4.3 miles (the course was mis marked) and did in with no training or parental supervision. It was so funny to hear what they were thinking during race.

We came home to a wonderful smelling house and reveled in our accomplishments. Stevey and Dalton had a great time at the Turkey Bowl they were conducting. Dinner was delicious and the whole day was beautiful.

Enjoy the pictures!

All of us FREEZING!

Family Pictures 2008

Cute picture even with Clovers special look...why can't she just look at the camera.

Shaylee 12 years...looking really cute. This is a GREAT picture of her.

Braden 10 years old...another great picture...very handsome with hint of shyness.

Zoie 9 years old. Very cute picture ESPECIALLY knowing that she was in a full fledged asthma attack early that day and vomited five times. She worked the camera and pulled off a nice picture.

Dalton 7 years old. Mr. No Problem Posiong for a Picture Guy. Handsome and confident.

Clover 2 1/2 years old...she LOVES this picture. Every day she shows me the picture and we have to reenact the shot...standing with hands on hips and little smile.

Sunny 8 months. Cute, chubby, and so sweet. Clover loves this picture too AND we have to act it out as well...subtle smile and hand in that position.

Halloween Party 2008

So we decided to have a kids Halloween Party this year and to say the least it turned out good and was a lot of fun.

We invited the kids from the neighborhood and from church and ended up with over twenty-five party kids here. We had a costume contest which Cinderella won, had a few relays, and played Zombie Tag (something like Marco-Polo). Once upon a time being "it" was not the thing you wanted and tried very hard avoiding getting caught so as not to be it. I guess as a child hits the ages of 8-11 you want to be it. I would put the blind fold on the kid...they would moan like a zombie the other children would moan like a zombie in return and pretty much jump into the zombies arms to get caught. This happened like six time in a row and was SO annoying, it pretty much kept ruining the came because the game would start and then end within fifteen seconds. When I encouraged them NOT to get caught that pushed the transition to thirty seconds.

The most popular event of the night was the strobe light dancing. All of the kid got SO sweaty and LOVED it!

Angel the kitty cat.

and Captain America gone Bozo-the-Clown or something.

Shaylee

Shaylee has been busy. She sewed her first pillow case in her sewing class at school and it looks GREAT!
