I.D.I.O.T.
Yep...that is called sunburn on baby! I was at a farewell thinger this afternoon....just standing outside with Sunny snoozing in my arms for maybe thirty minutes. The sun was out, but it felt very coolish maybe 68 to 70 degrees with wind so I didn't realize the full intensity of the sun.
Now Sunny is lucky enough to be sporting a nice red sunburn on only half of her face. You
think I would know better by now.

C.C. Theft
So last night I just had to get out of the house. I have been cooped up all week with a sick baby and the confines of my home was the last place I wanted to be.
I decided Target was just the place for me so I went and browsed the clothing department to my little hearts content. Of all things I found a pair of crop pants that were pretty cute and were begging to be purchased by me. I go to the register and do the debt card swipy thing and I was DECLINED! Big "HMMMMM" escapes my lips (there was definitely enough money in our account for this purchase) and the cashier asks if I want to use another form of payment....no thank you, there is definitely something bigger going on here and those crop pants aren't worth my time anymore...interesting how quickly priorities can change.
As I am leaving the store I call Stevey tell him what happened and so he hopped on the computer to check out our banking info. I walk in the door just as he get our account information up and guess what we discover, four unauthorized purchases done just that day (the 23rd)!!! The first one was to Yahoo Wallet (a pay-pal type thing), christianmingle.com, Flowers, and GoTrust (a website that lets you surf below the tracking zone). We quickly cancel our cards and then have to wait until the morning to talk to the bank.
As the bank was reviewing our account this morning they noticed that on the 18th there was a probe into our account via itunes for a song that was never purchased. What that means is that whoever got our card info probed through itunes to see if we had money. Anyway, they are taking care of this mess and are crediting us back all of our stolen funds. I really hope we can find the source for this.....creepy huh. Thank goodness I went shopping too. Had I not, it may have been days before we noticed anything and by that time had a lot more damage done to our account.
NOTE: Yeah, I'm sure you have already put the whole stolen CC number and Christian Mingle and Flowers thing together...how ironic 'eh.

The Pictures Are Real!
A picture is worth a thousand words....DALTON DID IT!
Those of you who know Dalton also know that he has always had an abnormal terror of dogs....cats too but dogs the worst.
Our neighbors have some really fun boys that my older kids have become friends with and they also have this four year old Golden Retriever, Lacy. Well, for Dalton to play with the friends he has had to address his dog issue head on. The other day Dalton was on their trampoline (put there by the neighbor dad) and the dog decided to jump on and join him for some fun. According to the account given by his sister he sat on the trampoline making a crying/nervous energy type noise and stroked the dogs fur several times before the dog jumped off the tramp. Dalton made his way home to tell me what happened and was very upset about it. Later that night he confessed that is was actually a little fun the pet the dog.
Several days later here he is....we are so proud of Dalton and his accomplishment and we are thankful for neighbors who keep such kid friendly dogs as pets (no pitbulls here)!

Hawaiian Kabobs....yummy. They served these at my sister-in-laws wedding a couple of weeks ago. I didn't have a recipe for them so I came up with my own version to satisfy the craving I had for them and my whole family loved them.

Aaah Civilian Life
Yesterday three of my four kids needed to visit the doctor. Clover was sick, Sunny was stuffy and is having skin issues, and Zoie ran out of Flovent and has some strange looking moles on her back and chest and is just having too many appear lately. I called the doctors office directly in the morning and asked for an appointment with my doctor for the three kids at the same time....she said, "No Problem" and I had my appointment set at 3:45pm that same day.
We arrived at the office at the appointed time and parked right outside the entrance door and walked right in and up to the check in window and announced our arrival. We sat in the waiting room for about five minutes before the friendly nurse Angie beckoned us back to our adorable professionally painted 'choo-choo train' themed room with a train as the patient bed. She took all three of the kids vitals, gave stickers to each including Dalton who was just there for moral support, and then stepped out telling us that Dr. Moore (our pediatrician of choice) would be with us shortly.
Dr. Moore arrived clean, courteous, full of energy, and immediately asked me what was going on while standing face to face with me and made eye contact the entire time. After seeing the number of moles on Zoie's body he said it was worth a visit to the dermatologist and gave me a referral and gave me a years worth of Flovent refills. With Sunny he comforted her by talking quietly to her during the assessment and then gently rotated her head to check her ears... nothing to worry about with her and her skin is nothing more than some over active oil glands. With Clover there was no flu but there is an ear infection. He wrote me a prescription with the council to fill it if I want. I can wait a few days to see if it clears up on its own or fill it now, whatever I want.
After the appointment we drove three hundred feet to the pharmacy's drive up window and put in our order for the meds, picked it up thirty minutes later (during that time I dropped the kids off at home because their dad was now home and went and picked up a pizza for dinner) and then went home and cooked the pizza for dinner.
You might be asking yourself "yeah...so...what's the big deal!" and I will tell you that things just do not work like this in the military. From getting a same day appointment WITH my pediatrician to the quick and courteous service, to getting the referral with out being the residents guinea pig first. I loved it...being civilian is a GREAT thing!
